Lessons of life inspired by Mark Zuckerberg

Lately recently Facebook has got a lot of bad publicity, but no one can deny the humongous power it holds in a social media network. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of this massive social platform, is undoubtedly successful. There are definitely things we can learn from this mastermind about working hard to turn your dreams into a reality.

1. Have a tunnel vision

As Mark Zuckerberg had a vision for Facebook, he dropped out of Harvard to work towards his goal. Having a vision for your life in the future is very important as it gives you a sense of direction. It helps you understand what you want to achieve in life by letting you see more clearly at the opportunities available which are going to benefit you in the long term. Apart from this, having goals are strong driving forces to help us get through tough times and look forward to pursuing our goals. They act as motivators and eventually empower us to make every single day productive.

2. Dealing with stressful situations

You have to be equanimous to deal with stressful situations in life. Mark Zuckerberg, even under pressure, approaches the things calmly. You have to have full control over yourself and the situations occurring in your pathway and only that results in making better decisions because a clear and peaceful mind is your power. Equanimity is a great asset to improve relationships with employees and colleagues.

3. Work in silence

When Zuckerberg was working on the largest social media platform “Facebook”, he didn’t create a lot of fuss around it, rather he just created something about which he was passionate. He established the entire website from his dorm room.

So, if you are passionate enough about something, continue working on it without seeking attention or approval from others.

4. Do what you are passionate about

You can only follow the above-mentioned steps if you are passionate enough about what you are working on. Without passion for something, you are nothing. If you are working on a project that demands a lot of commitment and doesn’t have any monetary incentive; it means, you have a strong idea of what you want and will do anything to achieve it. An office job, at times, is a necessity, it gives you a living till your project is not making money, but it should never stop you from following your passion. However, for some people, the office job might be their passion.

5. People throw rocks at things that shine

Do not let the opinions of other people get you down. Mark does not let his critics get to him. It is also a skill to block out the noise and keep doing what you are, which only a few people have. So, instead of paying a heed to your critics, use other their criticism to motivate you to do bigger and better things. Knowing what you actually want in life and how you are going to accomplish your goal and just sticking to it till the end, is critical.

Incorporate the above-mentioned qualities and skills to change your life. Happy journey!
