How many times have we gone through the images and articles from around the globe showcasing exquisite locations and architectural marvels which not only take our breath away but also generates that desire to feel the luxury our self. Finally the wait is over as the luxury is knocking at our doorsteps or rather I should say at Kolkata gate restaurant, Kolkata.
An Iconic Gate or a Gine Dine Experience
Well Kolkata gate hanging restaurant is mix of both. If you have been recently passing by the New town and just at the Narkelbagan crossing, on the main arterial road, you have been forgiven to stop and just admire this beautiful masterpiece which creates a whole new picture of the modern Kolkata in your mind. Now to make it even better the administration of Kolkata and the ministry of Kolkata has decided to give the citizens of Kolkata a fine dine and a never to forget experience within these structures.
The Kolkata gaterestaurant is a multi-cuisine, in-house diner. It has been inspired by the hanging restaurant in Malaysia and also the iconic Eiffel tower comes into mind when you think about this hanging restaurant in Kolkata and also the gate on which it has been built.
How to have the experience
So if you are thinking about visiting Kolkata in the near future or if you are in the city already, you can always plan ahead and book or register in advance. Though a normal visit to the Kolkata gate restaurant wouldn’t cost you much. As the schedule of the gate has been divided into two slots. Gates open at 12pm in the noon for visitors and are open up until 5pm for anyone who just wants to visit the insides of the gate and roam around the art gallery which is decorated with several paintings depicting the rich Bengalese culture.
The structure above the gate is in shape of a circle and you can roam inside that and look through the glass structure outside. It is a tremendous place for a family’s day out. This visit in your first slot will cost you around a hundred bucks per person which will include some snacks and tea as a compliment.
The magnificent diner
The second phase of the Kolkata gate restaurant starts precisely at 7pm. That is the time after which you can experience the actual luxury within Kolkata. At night, the outer part of the circle lights up, there is a logo outside which displays the words written as “Biswa Bangla Gate”. The inside of the tunnel is fully air conditioned so everything is taken care of for you and your loved ones so that you can enjoy and end up having a gala time. The cuisine as mentioned earlier is a mix of everything. From Italian to the fiery Chinese, from regal Mughalai to the conventional Indian dishes everything is available.
The meals are served as a proper three course meals with top notch service. Priority is always given to the standards of hygiene and quality of the food so that means that it is just not a spot to admire the beauty but also to enrich your taste buds. Kolkata hanging gaterestaurant is a place where you will constantly want to come for its soul soothing food and for the sight-seeing, so the great part is that this fine dine experience will not be heavy on your pockets as everything is reasonably priced on the menu so that you can have this experience which usually should be once in a lifetime, but now regularly.
Thanks to the urban ministry of Kolkata we are progressing towards the modern Kolkata. However the tables at the restaurant need to be booked prior to the visit. The pre reservations are a good opportunity for the restaurant to maintain their standards and it provides them a good opportunity to provide the service of highest order. All in all everything is well managed within the premises. The one thing which we needs to make sure that there is no facility of washrooms. The washrooms are outside the restaurant premises beneath the gate. So this is the only disadvantage if we are knit picking.
